Trips and visitors

We welcome all kinds of visitors to Nutkins nursery as a wonderul way of enhancing the learning opportunities available. We have been fortunate to have visits ranging from the Fire Brigade, vets, police, chefs, and even a magician. It is wonderful that we have such a range of skilled and talented parents, as these are often the best visitors. We are also lucky to go out on school trips during the year. A lot of these are in our local community. We loved visiting Sainsburys to have a tour of the different areas, finishing off with a lovely snack in the cafe. We often visit St Andrews church, where we have even had a mini wedding ceremony perfomed by the Reverand Sargent. We also visit the library for story time during the year. We have  been further a field visiting Maryport Aquarium and the Dino park in Dumfries.

During the year we also take part in special events as part of the main school. A particular favourite is Book Week where we get to dress up as different story book characters. At Christmas we join with the Reception and year 1 children to perform a nativity which will often bring a tear to our parent's eye as we look adorable in our costumes.
